K-2 STARTS

Science and Technology for Rural Teachers and Small districts

K-2 STARTS (Science and Technology Assistance for Rural Teachers and Small Districts) is a one of a kind program that allows teachers from select schools in Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne Counties to take part in a long term professional development experience that helps them integrate science with reading, writing and math.  Participants are exposed to engaging content by university partners and expert teachers.  They also learn to apply their new knowledge through exciting inquiry-based teaching strategies that engage all learners.

K-2 STARTS is a partnership between the Benerd School of Education at the University of the Pacific, New Hope School District, and the San Joaquin County Office of Education.
