There are two different domes available for check out. There is a K-8 dome which contains grade appropriate curriculum with a “pin hole” projector and appropriate canisters. And our newest member is the digital star lab which is K-12 appropriate and contains software and an on-line guide to grade appropriate lessons.
Each dome takes up an area of 18’ x 21’. The dome is 16’ in diameter with an entrance tube and blower tube that make up an additional five feet. The dome is 10.5’ high. This dome can comfortably hold up to 30 adults.
Although each dome is made from a nylon reinforced, flame retardant, industrial grade, 6 mil polymer fabric, each dome is over 15 yrs. old and therefore care should be taken when used. We ask that shoes be removed prior to entry and that students and or parents not be allowed to rest against it.
The dome may be picked up in our office (2857 Transworld Drive, Stockton), on the Friday prior to the check out week, after 4 p.m. The dome will need to be checked back in by 3 p.m . on the following Friday. For questions please call 209-468-4880.
When picking up the dome it is important that you have done the following:
> Arranged for payment of $75 for the week
> Signed a Starlab agreement form (may be downloaded from Consortium Page)
> Reviewed the Inventory Check-off sheet
> Have picked up one dome (very large 45 lb. bag), two fans and auxiliary supplies.
